Hannah Berkley is in her fifth year as the choir and theater director at South-Doyle High School. A Knoxville native, Hannah grew up in Knox County Schools while also singing in the children and youth choirs at Church Street United Methodist Church where she formerly served as the Children’s Choir Assistant.
Hannah previously served as the Associate Director of Worship and Arts at Concord United Methodist Church in Farragut, TN. While in this role, Hannah directed the Chorister Choir, Worship Choir and led the Mosaic Music and Arts Summer Camp for children and youth. Choirs under her direction have received the highest scores at regional and state festivals as well as performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Hannah holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Tennessee where she was graduate assistant and taught the UT Women’s Chorale and reVOLution a cappella ensemble. She studied private voice with Lorraine DiSimone and Andrew Skoog as well as conducting with Dr. Angela Batey. Hannah has had the privilege of performing with choirs in esteemed venues worldwide, including St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, the Duomo in Florence, Italy, Christ Church Cathedral and St. Patrick's Cathedral in Ireland. Hannah is an active member of NafME, TMEA, and ACDA.
